How To Ask For A Second Date: 3 Tips To Follow
Date one went well and you want to move things along to date two. Hooray! Follow these three keys to secure your spot in his/her/their heart (and calendar):
1. Ask for the second date ASAP; do not wait.
The best time to ask for date #2 is either at the very end of date #1 or the next morning. I am a fan of asking at the end of the first date, so it can be in-person rather than over the phone. But if you have to do it virtually, make sure you don’t wait more than a day.
2. Schedule the second date ASAP; do not wait.
Date #2 should be no longer than one week after date #1. Motion creates emotion. The beginning stages of dating someone are all about creating momentum and forming a connection. If you get into a new workout routine, you wouldn’t go to the gym once and then wait two weeks before going again… Same principle applies to dating.
3. Be authentic, positive, and bold when you ask.
Here are some good examples from our playbook you can feel free to steal:
On dating apps? You need Keys.
I had a really great time with you tonight, I’d love to invite you on a second date. Let’s do this again over the weekend?
I definitely feel a connection with you and I like your sense of humor. Are you free to go out again on Thursday?
Now that I know how much you love ice cream, I want to take you to my favorite spot. How about ice cream and bike riding for a second date?
Good luck and let us know how we can help!
